Wakeful — Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
Wakeful does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data.
- No data collection. Wakeful gathers no personal information, no usage analytics, and no diagnostics.
- No network access. The app has no networking capability whatsoever. Nothing about you or your Mac ever leaves your device.
- Local-only settings. Your preferences — the sleep toggles and the list of drives you have granted — are stored locally on your Mac inside the app's sandbox container. They are never uploaded anywhere.
- Drive access is consent-based and local. When you add a drive, macOS grants Wakeful access to that location via a security-scoped bookmark stored locally on your Mac. To keep the drive spun up, Wakeful writes a small marker file (
.wakeful-keepalive) to that location. Wakeful does not read, copy, open, or transmit your files, and it can only access the specific drives or folders you explicitly grant.
Because Wakeful collects no data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
