Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: October 19, 2026
EB Technologies Inc., a Canadian company (“we,” “us,” or “our”), is responsible for the information described in this policy. It covers ebtechnologies.net, communications with us, and tools and integrations that expressly refer to this policy, including Insights Labs.
Individual apps may have a more specific privacy policy explaining their own behaviour. That policy applies to the app and takes precedence on the matters it describes. This policy does not add data collection to apps that operate without it. See, for example, the policies for MarkSay, RunCoach, Wakeful, MemGauge, and CanItFit.
1. Website visits and support
This website does not embed advertising trackers or use cookies for advertising or visitor profiling. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, request times, browser information, and security events to deliver and protect the site. Infrastructure providers may use essential security mechanisms and retain operational logs under their own policies.
If you email us, we receive your email address, the name and message you provide, and any attachments. We use this information to answer you, provide support, investigate issues, and maintain necessary business records. Please do not send passwords, access tokens, or unnecessary sensitive information.
Our email and hosting providers process information to provide their services. Following an external link, making an app-store purchase, or using a third-party service is also subject to that provider's privacy policy.
2. Insights Labs and connected accounts
Insights Labs (also referred to as Insights Lab) is currently an internal collection of tools for EB Technologies Inc. to review authorized social-media accounts and test integrations. It is not currently a public product. Its TikTok Sandbox is limited to authorized test accounts.
When you authorize a connection, the platform grants specific permissions. Depending on those permissions and the commands you run, the tools process:
- Account information: platform account identifiers, display names, profile images, profile links, and other permitted profile fields.
- Content and metrics: post or video identifiers, descriptions, links, thumbnails, publication times, and available statistics such as followers, views, likes, comments, and shares.
- Authorization information: access tokens, refresh tokens when issued, granted permissions, and expiry information.
- Requested uploads: media and associated information you explicitly select for an enabled upload or publishing feature.
For the current TikTok analytics test, the requested permissions are
user.info.basic, user.info.profile,
user.info.stats, and video.list. They support account
identification, profile and account statistics, and information and metrics
about public videos. The actual information available depends on your
authorization and TikTok's API. These permissions do not grant access to
private messages or your TikTok password.
We use connected-account data to provide the requested reports, compare saved snapshots, troubleshoot the integration, and perform explicitly requested content actions. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising profiles, or use it to train general-purpose AI models.
3. Local storage and information sharing
The current Insights Labs command-line tools store credentials, cached reports, snapshots, and saved notes on the computer running the tool. Each integration has a separate local data store. In our internal tests this is an EB Technologies-controlled computer; for a locally installed copy, it is the operator's computer.
The tools contact the connected platform over HTTPS to authorize access, retrieve information, and perform requested actions. They do not automatically send the local database to an EB Technologies cloud service. Tokens are stored with restricted filesystem permissions; the database is not encrypted by the tool itself. Device security and disk encryption remain important.
Reports, exports, and content you choose to share with another application, an AI assistant, a collaborator, or a platform are then handled by that recipient under its own terms. Uploads send selected content to the destination platform. The current TikTok upload workflow, if separately enabled and authorized, sends a draft to TikTok for the user to finish there.
We may disclose information to service providers needed to operate the covered services, when you direct us to do so, or when required by law or necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or legal claims. We limit disclosures to the relevant purpose. Service providers and connected platforms may process information outside your country, including outside Canada, where different laws may apply.
4. Retention and safeguards
Local credentials remain until removed or replaced; expiry limits their usability but does not necessarily delete the stored record. Cached reports, snapshots, notes, and exports may remain until the operator removes them. Refreshing a report is not a deletion request.
For information under our control, we retain it only as needed for the stated purpose, support, security, or legal recordkeeping, subject to any shorter limits required by a connected platform. We remove or de-identify information when it is no longer needed. Backup copies and required records may remain for their applicable retention period.
We use access restrictions and other reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information. No storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security. We do not claim that local storage alone eliminates privacy risks.
5. Your choices, access, and deletion
- Disconnect: revoke the integration in the connected platform's account or security settings to stop future authorized access. Removing a token locally does not itself revoke it at the platform.
- Remove local data: use the tool's account-removal command to remove that account's credentials and associated reports and snapshots. Separately remove saved exports, backups, and any remaining application settings or upload records. Contact us for instructions if needed.
- Request access, correction, or deletion: email support@ebtechnologies.net with the tool name, relevant account identifier, and your request. Do not include your password or token. We may need to verify your authority over the account before acting.
We can address information on systems we control and help you locate data stored on your device; we cannot remotely erase files on a device we do not control. Deleting our local records does not delete posts, account data, or copies held by a platform or another recipient. Request those changes from that provider.
You may withdraw consent to optional processing. This may prevent the associated feature from working. We respond to privacy requests within the time required by applicable law, explain any lawful limits on a request, and provide a way to raise concerns. You may also contact the privacy regulator applicable to your location.
6. Children
This website and our internal social-account testing tools are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit their personal information through these services. Contact us if you believe such information has been provided. Products designed for other age groups describe their practices in their own privacy notices.
7. Updates and contact
We will update this page and its date when our practices change. Where required, we will provide additional notice and seek consent before using information for a new purpose.
For privacy questions or requests, contact the person responsible for privacy at EB Technologies Inc. through support@ebtechnologies.net. Include “Privacy” in the subject so we can route your request.
